Behind the experience

From ambitious idea to live impact.

01

Client challenge

Create an anniversary experience that felt unmistakably Miami, worked with the complex geometry of the historic Miami-Dade Courthouse, and could communicate across a large outdoor gathering on Flagler Street.

02

Audience

Miami residents, downtown visitors, civic partners, cultural audiences, and guests attending the city’s anniversary celebration at the courthouse.

03

Our role

MIA Animation developed the creative treatment, concept art, facade studies, and animated content designed specifically for projection on the Miami-Dade Historic Courthouse.

04

Creative idea

Use the courthouse as a living timeline. Architectural details become frames for color, movement, memory, and recognizable elements of Miami’s evolving identity.

05

Technology

Architectural projection mapping, 2D and 3D motion design, animation, compositing, and facade-aligned content production.

06

Production process

Creative development began with the celebration’s purpose and the building itself. Story beats were translated into designed sequences, animated for scale, and prepared around the technical map of the facade.

07

Scale

A public, outdoor presentation covering the historic Miami-Dade Courthouse facade and designed to read clearly across the event footprint on Flagler Street.

08

Outcome

The project gave Miami’s anniversary a highly visible centerpiece—an experience tied to a real place, created for a shared audience, and preserved as content that can continue to represent the celebration online.
